CE Testing – Texpeed

Motorcycle garments are rated by protection levels to help riders choose the right gear for their riding style and conditions:

Section Image

Class A: prioritizes comfort and mobility, suited for city rides and short trips

Class AA: provides a balance of protection and flexibility for commuting and touring

Class AAA: offers maximum abrasion and impact protection, ideal for high-speeds

The class level for each of our products can be found within our main images, look out for the biker icon.

Abrasion resistance

Impact Testing

Our garments are rigorously tested by an independent external laboratory using the Darmstadt impact abrasion machine to ensure durability and quality.

In this test, a fabric sample is carefully placed on a rotating drum covered with a road-like surface to accurately simulate real-life abrasion forces.

The fabric’s resistance to wear is measured over time, and the duration it withstands this stress determines its assigned durability class, providing a reliable benchmark for performance.

Tear strength

To measure tear resistance under sudden force, our garments undergo a tear strength test. Using a small sample of the fabric, force is applied to see how much weight and stress the material can handle, before the tear extends. This ensures the garments are durable enough to withstand sliding impact.

Seam strength

Each seam is rigorously machine-tested for tensile strength, with controlled force applied to ensure the stitching holds under stress. Every seam must meet the required strength standards for its protection level, guaranteeing maximum durability, reliability and resilience.

The integrated protectors are tested to ensure effective impact absorption, correctly meeting the required EN621-1 standards. Using a weighted impactor, they measure the protectors ability to absorb and disperse energy, reducing injury risks.

Fitting

Dimensional stability testing checks that motorcycle clothing retains its original size, fit, and shape after washing, cleaning, or normal use.

Garment restraint testing ensures protective clothing stays securely in place during movement or impact, keeping armour and protection effective.

Ergonomics testing ensures motorcycle clothing allows comfort, freedom of movement, and usability without restricting the rider’s control.

Fitting tests check that motorcycle clothing is designed to fit the rider correctly, ensuring comfort, safety, and proper placement of protection
